Six Analog Drum Voices

The SD-6 features six distinct drum sound sections: bass drum (BD), snare drum (SD), clap (CL), cymbal (CY), closed hat (CH), and open hat (OH). Each section uses fully analog circuitry with discrete components and transistors, giving you that warm, punchy sound that digital drums often struggle to replicate.

What makes the SD-6 special is its individual outputs for each of the six sounds. This means you can route each drum to its own channel on your mixer, apply different effects to each sound, or record them separately for maximum flexibility in your productions.

Hands-On Sound Control

With 23 knobs spread across the front panel, you have deep control over each drum sound. Every section has its own level and decay controls, while specific sounds get additional parameters:

• Bass Drum: Pitch and click controls, plus self-oscillation at higher decay settings
• Snare Drum: Pitch control and click/noise mixing
• Clap: Pitch and filter controls for shaping the attack
• Cymbal: Filter control for brightness
• Hi-Hats: Shared pitch, filter, and noise/metal tone controls

The unit also features realistic hi-hat choking - when you trigger the closed hat while the open hat is playing, it cuts off naturally just like acoustic drums.

Modern Connectivity

Despite its vintage-inspired sound, the SD-6 is built for modern workflows. MIDI In and Thru connections let you sequence it from your DAW or hardware sequencer. The MIDI implementation includes a learn function - hold the MIDI button while powering on, then play six notes in sequence to assign them to each drum sound.

For those who prefer hardware sequencers, each drum sound has its own 3.5mm trigger input that responds to 5V/1mS pulses.
